Farewell, Dear Friend…
I have been drinking Diet Coke, since it first came out. I just love it. It is everything they say it is. Refreshing, satisfying and just downright good. Since my body doesn’t tolerate sugar well, it has been great to have around. However, I have decided it is time to quit. I won’t bother you with all the reasons why I think this is a good idea. I have just decided it is a necessity to get myself to the next level. I also think that anytime you consume something as much as I do with Diet Coke and the fact that it was sooo hard to think about not drinking it, then maybe it is time to step away. I don’t know if there is such thing as an addiction to a soft drink, but if there is then I I need to enroll into Betty Ford.
To replace it, I will be drinking water, coffee and tea. The last is something I will be trying to perfect over the next few weeks. I love iced tea, when it is made correctly. A Mr. Coffee tea maker doesn’t make it correctly. My goal is to try and reproduce a peach mango tea from Broadstreet Bakery. I could drink it all day, everyday.
So, if you call, text or email me over the next few days and I seem grumpy, you now know why.
Consider yourself warned!

I completely disagree in you habit kicking, for 2 reasons.
1. I LOVE Diet Coke. It is a necessity to one’s daily well being.
2. The fact that you are replacing Diet Coke with Tea???? This could turn int a tea obsession, and you already LOVE Starbucks. Seems as though you are replacing one vice with another instead of eliminating a vice. (Plus I don’t care for Tea, not Broadstreet’s, McAllister’s, nobody’s tea).
Okay, so those are my 2 points. Grumpy or not, I will still chat with you!

Oh, by the way, yes, it is 4:06 a.m. because I can’t sleep and am wide awake wondering why!!! Go figure.

All good points, except…
You love Diet Coke, but you limit it to 1 or 2 a day. I can’t do that. I drink that at one sitting. I drink a minimum of 6 -7 a day or more. That’s not good.
Tea is natural and has many health benefits and it is cheaper.
I will be drinking water mostly, my plan anyway. I have found if I do this my joints feel better. The only negative on this is it’s bottled water. I have found one that really seems to help my joints feel better than tap water. It taste better also.
Mississippi Southern girl doesn’t like iced tea? You sure you from the south?!?
We have given up Starbuck’s, except for the rare celebration. While it is enjoyed, the money needs to go elsewhere.
Thanks for still talking to me! Maybe I will get over it soon or I want be grumpy anyway. I just got a glass of iced tea, instead of my morning Diet Coke start. Wasn’t the same I tell you! Just was not the same!
Oh and yuck on the 4am. Sorry you can’t sleep. That’s actually one of the things I am hoping giving up coke will help. My restless nights.

All I can say is Praise the Lord!! Mom and Dad have been trying to get all of you off that nasty stuff. Get the rest of your lovely family off too, ok. By the way, I heard while in MS that there is a high incident of neurological diseases showing up in Madison county and some are connecting it to the water. Drink bottled water or get a distiller or reverse osmosis for your drinking water supply.
